The Parrish Small Business Expo and Fall Festival

The Parrish Fall Festival and Small Biz Expo was a huge success. Almost 1000 people attended the event on Saturday, October 19th and Sunday, October 20th. With over 42 booths, 4 food trucks, a beer truck, a cornhole tournament, cotton candy, bounce houses and Brown’s Market, it was a fun-filled family event!
The event was organized by Gretchen Fowler, PCA President and Co-Founder and President of the Anthony Fowler Foundation, to showcase the small businesses in the community of Parrish. It was hosted at Swack Daddy’s BBQ and Brown’s Market, which is now owned by Swack Daddy’s. Hundreds of people enjoyed the festivities, food, vendors and entertainment. “It was a true community effort,” said Gretchen, “Local businesses and organizations coming together to make the event happen, especially in the crazy weather on Saturday. So many people volunteered their time, donating their services to make this event a success.”
Special thanks to the Bulls Football Team of Parrish Community High School. Approximately 20-25 football players and coaches and support staff helped set-up the event. Coach Chris Culton wants the team to be known as the Philanthropy Team, the team with a heart for their community.
Two local youth organizations were in attendance raising money for their organizations – Cub Scout Pack 1226 and North Manatee Soccer Mutiny u13. The Pony Rides and Petting Zoo were provided by Ever After Pony Rides and Petting Zoo. The Hay Ride was provided by Jones Potato Farm and Jim Parks with the Parrish General Store.
Food vendors included Parrish Cuban Grill, D. Stringer Produce and Concessions, Kona Ice, Gulley’s, Swack Daddy’s BBQ and the Budweiser Beer Truck. Music and entertainment was provided by Gulfstream Entertainment – DJ XL and DJ Diluzion. The Cornhole Tournament was put on by Tampa Bay Cornhole and Bounce Houses were provided by KDD Rentals, LLC.
Brown’s Market is open Tuesday through Saturday from 9 am – 6 pm and from 11 am – 6 pm on Sunday. They are closed on Monday. Swack Daddy’s BBQ is open from 11 am – 7:30 pm on Saturday and Sunday. They offer a large variety of fresh produce, farm fresh eggs, milk, plants and much more.
Proceeds from the event benefit the Anthony Fowler Foundation, which helps families facing unforeseen tragedies. Below is a complete list of vendors and their contact information.
