PUBLIC MEETING WITH FDOT ON SR 62 /ERIE RD
PUBLIC HEARING PRESENTATION
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), in partnership with Manatee County, invites you to a public hearing for the SR 62 at US 301 Realignment Project from 0.13 miles south of the US 301 and Erie Road intersection, realigning with SR 62 at 0.26 miles to the east in Manatee County on June 22, 2021. This project is in support of Design Project FPID 445308-1-58-01.
The purpose of this project is to evaluate realignment of SR 62 at US 301 in order to improve safety and mobility at the intersection. The public hearing is being held to present information about the preferred alternative and engineering and environmental analysis completed to date. The hearing provides the opportunity for the public to offer feedback on the preferred alternative for the official hearing record
The Department has two ways to participate in the public hearing: online through the project website or by attending the public hearing event (virtually or in-person). All hearing materials, including the project video, will be available online one week prior to the hearing event. A copy of these materials will also be displayed at the in-person location. All participation options will allow you to view the materials, ask questions, and submit your comments. You may choose any combination of the options provided.
Online Open House: (June 15 – July 7)
The online open house will consist of all hearing materials, including the project video, being available on the project website (https://swflroads.com/sr62/at301/) for review and comment at any time from Tuesday, June 15, 2021 through Wednesday, July 7, 2021.
Public Hearing: (June 22)
Virtual Option: Attend virtually from a computer, tablet or mobile device. You can register in advance by visiting https://register.gotowebinar.com/register/7632292264560147468. Once registered, attendees will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the hearing online. Online attendees will be able to state or write their own testimony as part of the hearing. Please review the hearing materials online through the project website prior to attending.
Phone Option (Listen Only): Join the hearing in listen-only mode by dialing (914)614-3221 and entering the passcode 342-911-414 when prompted. Callers may submit comments directly to the project manager by using the contact information listed below. Please review the hearing materials online through the project website prior to attending.
In-Person Option: Attend in person at the First Baptist Church of Parrish, 12125 71st Street East, Parrish, Florida 34219. There will be an open house to review project materials starting at 5 pm., with the hearing and public testimony at 6 p.m. Attendees will be asked to follow all safety and sanitation guidelines. Attendees who are not feeling well should not attend in-person.
A summary of the hearing comments and responses will be available on the website approximately 30 days following the close of the comment period.
Project documents will also be available for public viewing from June 1, 2021 to July 7, 2021 at FDOT District One Manatee Operations Center, 14000 East SR 64, Bradenton, Florida 34212 and at Rocky Bluff Branch Library, 6750 US Highway 301 North, Ellenton, Florida 34222. They will also be available on the project website.
FDOT is sending notices (attached) to all property owners, businesses, interested persons and organizations to provide the opportunity to give comments to FDOT regarding this project. While comments about the project are accepted at any time, please send your comments by July 7, 2021, to be included in the formal public hearing record.
